The Hook Method.

Ever since the 1960s, Swiss surgeon, Dr. Robert Müller from Neuenburg, has continually refined the hook technique. I myself have practised this method to perfection, performing countless operations since 1990 on an almost daily basis.

The technique involves tiny, 2 mm-long incisions in the leg. These little openings allow the veins – even large varicose veins – to be lifted with a fine hook. I then use a special instrument to remove the veins segment by segment.

The Hook Method is very costly, so it is not surprising that, up until recently, a method involving step incisions of 1 to 5 cm has been practised in many clinics and hospitals throughout Switzerland.  It doesn’t take much imagination to visualise the difference in cosmetic outcome.
